"Perhaps in a million years I will sip wine on the shores of an alien world" It is fitting the story ends on the shores of an alien world, but that alien world is earth, and no more than 300 years hence - a lofty goal met too soon.

Immortality is indeed a lonely concept, especially when contrasted with a self-destructive species like ours. Unfortunately, longevity does not automatically translate into perpetual progress. Again, amazing work, I'm glad to have find some content like this.

Sounds like he waited too long tbh, if he had shared his immortality sooner if nothing else he'd have other people to suffer with

As someone who dabbles in writing I can only IMAGINE the amount of drafts that last line must have gone through hahah.
The sheer difficulty of trying to convey something as subtle as someone losing their humanity is not an easy task.
Portraying someone dying is easy, portraying someone *not living* is one of the hardest things possible, in my opinion

I was thinking in the same lines that The Man from Earth, he is only one person in one place at a time, who knows if it is really the last human and not just his ego playing games again, like he said it hasnt even been 300 years so he hasnt exhausted everyplace on earth
